CS alternators were introduced in 1986, and this series was released in 1990.
CS alternator production continued for years after these videos were shot, and quite a few changes were made to the CS line.
Among things to keep in mind:
There are many styles of regulators, some with low-voltage turn on.
The DE bearing was changed to a larger 303 in most applications.
The SRE bearing was changed to a wider style.
The SRE housing/tolerance ring was changed from metal to plastic (two versions).
The rectifier grounding-screw spacer was eliminated.
The CS144 line had a near-total make over—most components were changed and will not interchange.
